Caliber: .45 ACP
Class: F

Description: The Xenon-Mechanics 799 is an old and true symbol for the U.G.A.F military since the federal governments licensing to Xenon Mechanics to design the U.G.A.F's weaponry back in 2316. The 799 is a .45 caliber pistol renown for it's bulky appearance purposed as a design to accommodate larger clips that are able to hold up to 20 rounds. The pistol has been used as far back as 2317 as XM's first released model to the U.G.A.F military. The response was initially negative due to it's bulky size and jamming problems, but it's ease of disassemble and maintenance was praised alongside it's good velocity due to length. After comparing testing models and the released beta firearms for their jamming issues, it was discovered the problem was a manufacturing error in XM's systems and was quickly corrected. Properly designed models corrected the jamming issue and preformed beyond expectations with a high resistance to dust and other field debris. The bulky size was still a note of complaint but was later dropped when soldiers began to note that if the size was trimmed down the clip's size would be decreased, and the barrel length that gave the weapon such good velocity would also be lost.

Withstanding the test of time as well as withstanding the Xenon Mining Revolts and the Second Colonial Wars, the 799's only threat to it's fifty-one year service is the recently produced pulse-weaponry models that the U.G.A.F is considering adopting as standard-issue in no more than a decade's time when the models are fine-tuned. It's believed that if this weapon is bumped off, it'll remain produced for Internal Protection forces to continue to use as their standard sidearms.
