Description: Heckler and Koch, after deciding to redesign the M1911 to modern spec and standards, released the weapon to considerable corporate backlash from the pre-absorbtion Colt, who claimed that the weapon was a direct rip off of the M1911 design which they had owned a patent to and were manufacturing for the past 100 years, while additionally bearing a close resemblance to the M1911's name. HK made the decision and renamed the weapon to the HK1911 in a tongue-in-cheek move to sidestep all the allegations. Colt dropped the case. To this day, the HK1911 brings with it a tried-and-true design with the stopping power of a .45 caliber round.
